During my senior year of college, I got the opportunity to join our Campus Recreation Marketing team as a graphic designer. Working in an environment where the materials were created for a by students gave me a really amazing feeling of community - especially at a bigger university with 13 colleges. Under the graphic design supervisor I produced both original designs, as well as those adhering to the guidelines of specific department areas.
Posters
In this role, I created promotional posters and graphics for an array of events hosted by many organizations within the center. After edits from the graphic design supervisor as well as the event supervisor, I then converted the posters into materials for use on social media and web. Pictured below are original poster designs I created, along with the standard Department of Recreation footers.
Instagram Squares
My past experience in social media design aided me in formatting my poster designs into versions fit for social media — namely for Instagram's 1080 x 1080 px. Instagram was a heavily utilized advertising tool and is favored by much of Montclair's staff, and attendees. In a university with around 25,000 students, it is a casual yet solid way to disseminate information.
